Mycorrhizae 101: Why Fungi Boost Yields

Mycorrhizal fungi colonize roots and extend their reach through a fine network that gathers water and phosphorus far beyond the root tips. The plant trades sugars for that expanded uptake, often improving vigor and drought tolerance.

Inoculate at transplant so the fungi contact roots directly, and avoid high phosphorus and aggressive fungicides that suppress colonization. Once established, mycorrhizae are a low-cost, long-running yield insurance.
